NY JETS (+5.5) at BUFFALO -- The Jets have more confidence now than they probably had breaking training camp, as they have scored a straight-up road win (at Tennessee) and nearly made up a 21-point deficit against New England. And Chad Pennington (308 YP last week) has the capacity to keep his team in almost any game. But Buffalo is undergoing quite a metamorphosis on defense, and coming off a game in which they sacked Miami's Daunte Culpepper seven times for 60 yards in losses, the Bills pass rush can put an awful lot of pressure on that young New York offensive line. The Jets still have to run the ball well enough to keep defenses honest (just 142 yards and 2.4 ypc thus far), and Buffalo QB J.P.Losman, while not sensational, has avoided what coach Dick Jauron was worried about from the start (no INT's, no sacks). He's also completed over 60% of his passes. Bills have the added run element of Willis McGahee, which gives them a decided edge at the line of scrimmage.
