MIAMI FL at LOUISVILLE

MIAMI-FL. (+4.5) at LOUISVILLE -- Louisville's offense has certainly looked like a machine thus far. But it's one thing to have George Stripling and Kolby Smith running through the Kentucky and Temple defensive lines and quite another attacking Miami's quick, athletic defense. Here, it's a case where the absence of Heisman candidate Michael Bush is likely to be felt in a big way, because Bush could have kept the 'Canes defensive unit more honest. Brian Brohm, who has hit only 58% of his passes, will find the sledding a lot rougher also against Miami's secondary, which is NFL-caliber and includes the best pair of safeties in the college game in Kenny Phillips and Brandon Meriwether. The Cardinals' bigger problems exist on the other side of the ball. The secondary is full capable of being burned by the deep ball, as was demonstrated against Kentucky in the season opener. And now that secondary is without Rob Council (broken ankle), who was only their best cover corner. Tyrone Moss is back in the lineup, and will contribute to the running game to give Miami more balance. While Louisville is a sizzling 11-1 ATS last twelve laying points at Papa John's Stadium, Miami has scored six consecutive straight-up wins as an underdog.
